Title: “Fox”
Medium: Watercolor
Venue: Banner Bank
We’re thrilled to spotlight Bev Davis and her captivating 11×14 watercolor painting on board!
“I’ve always been drawn to the beauty and mystery of foxes in the wild, so I’ve started painting several of them,” Bev shares. “With this piece, I focused on detail in the face while letting the body stay loose and expressive. Leaving the background white was a tough call—but it felt right in the end.”
Stop by to see more of Bev’s work at the Whatcom Art Market and get inspired by her creative spirit and love of wildlife!

“Using photographs and field sketches from travels around the world and places where I’ve lived, I paint urban, industrial, marine, and pastoral landscapes. Within the constructs of intention, composition, shapes and values, I try to create meaningful paintings with imagination and atmosphere. The landscape of Whatcom County is a painter’s paradise with an amazing array of architectural, and verdant scenery. In developing my ideas for this painting, the setting and the drama of this elevated Gambrel-design barn in Ferndale satisfied my innate sense of aesthetics.”
